Simmons Named Success High School Teacher of the Year

Sharon Simmons, CTE teacher was named Success High School 2018 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Simmon’s was surprised during her advisory class with a balloon bouquet and cake presented by last year’s Teacher of the Year, Ms. Valerie Burleigh.

Sharon Simmons is a graduate of Mississippi State University. After completing her education she moved to CA to train for the Olympics for 5 years before beginning her teaching career. Ms. Simmons has been a CTE teacher at Success High School since 2014. She has also taught at Manor ISD, Bastrop ISD, Jarrell ISD and Del Valle ISD. Prior to teaching in secondary schools, Ms. Simmons coached at Mississippi State University for 3 years. She has been in education for twenty-one years.

While at Success High School, Ms. Simmons has taught game design, web design, mobile apps, animation, DIMM as well as Adobe applications. She also oversees the broadcast announcements and reporting by students.
